We are pleased to announce that Homo Faber is a partner in the project "Support for Refugees in Housing Independence," implemented by the Association of Ukrainians in Poland, Przemyśl Branch, and funded by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The project is aimed at refugees residing in Poland who are in particularly difficult or unstable housing situations and require urgent, comprehensive support in terms of accommodation, professional activation, and social integration.
Our support in Lublin is directed in particular to:
- Residents of collective accommodation centers (collective accommodation centers) from the Lublin, Podkarpackie, and Podlaskie Voivodeships, individuals and families forced to leave collective accommodation centers due to their closure or restricted operation;
- New refugees from Ukraine arriving in Poland who have not yet had access to systemic forms of support, the labor market, or permanent housing;
- Individuals and families who suddenly lost their homes due to unforeseen circumstances – refugees who found themselves in a housing crisis due to loss of livelihood, deterioration of health or illness, sudden change in housing conditions, experiences of domestic violence, or other forms of violence requiring immediate protective measures.
We provide support through:
- providing emergency accommodation to refugees facing urgent or urgent housing needs, particularly those in difficult situations following the closure of community-based housing units (COZZs) and individuals and families at risk of homelessness;
- supporting the safe transition from collective housing through support for transitional housing and rentals;
- providing individual case management (with particular emphasis on enabling refugees to effectively utilize local support systems such as social assistance, access local healthcare facilities, and receive broad, needs-based support for the community) and referrals, along with access to integration services such as Polish language courses, career counseling, and others.
Referrals to the program are provided through:
- mobile visits by the front desk team;
- project partner organizations;
- organizations and institutions cooperating with Homo Faber.
