Baobab. Place. Meeting. Neighboorhood.

We want to create a physical place for dialogue and intercultural exchange

Baobab is comprehensive initiative of several partner entities: the Homo Faber Association (an organization working to promote human rights), the Rule of Law Institute Foundation (an organization offering legal support to foreigners), the Doświed Belarusian Cultural Center (an organization comprised of Belarusians living in Lublin), and the Plast organization (Ukrainian Scout Organization in Poland).

The purpose of this cooperation is to organize and promote activities that foster the integration of various social groups, especially foreigners and other cultural minorities with the Polish community. Together we want to create a physical place for dialogue and intercultural exchange, where different communities can share their experiences, traditions, values and jointly seek solutions to problems.

The initiatives we plan to implement and invite you to participate in are:

  • Regular informational meetings about Lublin (check the dates here).
  • Multilingual themed tours of Lublin (check the dates HERE).
  • meetings at a common table. See HERE when they are planned.
  • events initiated by foreigners living in Lublin.
  • a series of podcasts about living in Lublin - it will consist of stories of foreigners living in Lublin. See upcoming episodes of the podcast HERE.
  • language and cultural meetings (meetings about Belarus and meetings about Ukraine);
  • Polish language lessons (we are preparing a summer speaking course - information is HERE).
  • A playroom for children. See how it works HERE.
  • integrative psychosocial workshops for children (see integration club for boys).
  • legal consultations. See HERE when they are held.

The project is financed by the Lublin City Hall.
